Over two weeks, the journey unfolded as a rich exploration of Australia’s landscapes, language and creative life. Beginning in Sydney, the group experienced the energy of a great harbour city with its world class landmarks – including a UNESCO site – before venturing into dramatic mountain scenery with eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and sweeping views. From there, the route continued by road to Canberra and on to Melbourne, allowing participants to visit national parks and witness the changing character of New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. Urban discovery included national museums, library and institutions, and was balanced with time in nature, from bush walks and wildlife encounters to coastal horizons and botanical gardens.

Throughout the programme, daily English lessons and artistic activities formed a steady and meaningful rhythm. Guided by experienced Waldorf educators, both adults and children engaged in singing, drama, drawing, clay modelling and movement sessions inspired by anthroposophical principles. The group was welcomed into several Waldorf schools, where exchanges with local teachers offered insight into educational practice in an Australian context. These encounters created space for dialogue, creativity and shared learning, rather than simple observation.

The journey also embraced Australia’s cultural life and relaxed spirit. Participants explored vibrant city neighbourhoods, markets, galleries and performance spaces, travelled through forested hills on a historic train, walked beside rivers and even unwound in natural thermal waters. Wildlife sightings, open skies and long summer evenings added to the sense of immersion. By the time the group departed from Melbourne, they carried home not only new language skills and artistic experiences, but also a deeper clarity, openness and strength in shaping their everyday lives.
